Among the honoured heroes was posthumous Kirti Chakra recipient Sepoy Janjal Pravin Prabhakar, who eliminated two terrorists during a counter-terror operation before laying down his life in service of the nation. Another recipient highlighted for his courage was wounded Lance Naik Meenatchi Sundaram A, recognised for his role in critical operational conditions. These acts of valour were cited as emblematic of the unwavering commitment demonstrated by personnel engaged in high-risk missions across conflict-prone regions.
The ceremony underscored the scale of sacrifice made by security forces operating in Jammu and Kashmir and along sensitive border areas, where sustained counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism efforts continue to demand exceptional resilience and dedication. The recognition of these 51 awardees reflected the government’s formal acknowledgment of their courage, professionalism, and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
